Strap Zone guide

Turn your phone into a Bluetooth heart-rate monitor

Connect a standard BLE heart-rate monitor directly to your phone for live BPM, zones and workout cues.

The protocol matters more than the logo

Strap Zone reads the standard Bluetooth Low Energy Heart Rate service. A compatible chest strap, arm monitor or broadcasting watch can work when it exposes that service to nearby devices.

A device that only sends heart rate through its own proprietary app may not appear. Check its manual for Bluetooth Heart Rate Profile or heart-rate broadcast support.

Pair the monitor

Wear or activate the sensor before scanning; many chest straps sleep until the electrodes make skin contact. Open Strap Zone, scan for devices and select the monitor from the results.

If it does not appear, disconnect it from another app or watch, confirm Bluetooth permission and scan again. One monitor usually accepts a limited number of simultaneous Bluetooth connections.

Use the signal during training

The live workout view keeps BPM, current zone and target status prominent. Optional cues reduce the need to look at the phone, while structured workouts add timed segments and repeats.

No Strap Zone account is required. You decide whether to enable GPS, Apple Health or Health Connect export.
